Career Profile
Your Profile is your personal identity in EA SPORTS(tm) Online (EASO) and any game title that supports it. Your Profile Career displays your personal attributes in the current game title as well as the ability to view your accomplishments in other EA SPORTS(tm) games*. Just as you can view this information, so can other members of EA SPORTS(tm) Online** who may want to recruit you for their Club, challenge you to a quick Matchup**, or add you to their Buddies.
Your Profile visually represents you throughout EA SPORTS(tm) Online services.
You can change the card image used to represent you by clicking on IMAGE in the left menu. The higher your Level the more cards you will have to choose from.
Tokens
With EA SPORTS(tm) Online, Electronic Arts introduces the concept of a monetary system, the Token. Tokens have no real-world monetary value but within the EA SPORTS(tm) Online services they are very much of value. Tokens are earned for a number of events throughout the environment and can be spent in several ways as well. At no time can Tokens be redeemed for items of any cash value. Lifetime tokens are the total number of tokens you've earned with all EA SPORTS(tm) Online games. Title tokens are for a single selected game title. Wallet tokens are normally a subset of lifetime tokens and indicate the number of tokens that you can spend from your wallet.
Levels
Attached to your EA SPORTS(tm) Online Profile is your personal Level. Levels are a measurement of your participation in online services, and not a measurement of your actual performance like the Rating.
As your Level increases your Profile image will also improve, demonstrating to all other members that you have progressed. You will have access to many more card images on the Profile Image screen where you can select the image that will represent you throughout the EA SPORTS(tm) Online game title.
Ratings
Attached to your EA SPORTS(tm) Online Profile is your personal Rating. Member Ratings are a measurement of your actual performance. The Rating is calculated using an algorithm based on the one created by the American Chess Federation. For each win or loss, against lesser, equal, or greater opponents, the member's rating will increase or decrease (players ratings are only impacted when playing "ranked" games).
A "zero sum" system is used. When you win a "ranked" game, your Rating goes up a certain number of points, and the loser's Rating goes down by the same number of points. When you lose a game, the reverse occurs: you lose some points, and the winner gains the same amount of points.
One other thing to remember is that games are automatically handicapped for players of greater or lesser skill. If your score is higher than your opponent's, you'll gain less Rating points if you win and your opponent will lose fewer. On the other hand, if your lower-rated opponent is victorious, he'll get more points, and you'll lose more than you would if you were playing against an evenly-matched foe.
